Description
This position is based out of our Sumter, SC facility. The Team Leader, Mission Critical will fulfill responsibilities as a production leader. Incumbent will allow for timely execution of required tasks including but not limited to assembly, allocation of materials, inspection, testing, wiring, and shipping. Promote a safe, engaged and inclusive work culture by proactively addressing and resolving concerns and escalating issues to your supervisor as appropriate. Work directly with the manufacturing team to ensure that customer orders are executed in a timely and efficient manner and that the most urgent orders are fulfilled first. Review orders and associated documentation (drawings, travel documents, bills of material) as needed to ensure the team has the appropriate information to complete the job and to assist with troubleshooting problems with the order documentation. Communicate professionally to provide updates on the status of specific orders, resolve issues with production and promote teamwork across departments. Support training and development of employees as the technical subject matter expert; support department supervisor to ensure a flexible workforce through cross training in critical positions. Delegate tasks and align resources as appropriate to meet production goals including working in a production associate capacity due to absenteeism/leaves of absence. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and drive assigned projects to completion. Attend tier meetings to discuss the progress of jobs, detect potential bottlenecks/roadblocks, and proactively work with the team to resolve issues. Request required materials/sub-assemblies to ensure complete and timely production. Work on projects and special assignments as required and assist/work in the area as needed. High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution. 2 years of manufacturing experience. 3 months of leadership experience managing people or project teams. Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. Must live within 50 miles of Sumter SC to be considered. No relocation benefits offered. Associate degree from an accredited institution. 1 year of leadership experience managing people or project teams. 1 year experience in switchboard assembly. 3 years of wiring experience Self-motivated / directed individual with well demonstrated written and verbal skills, along with great organizational and collaborative skills that positively promote a team environment. Attention to detail and thorough analytical skills. Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime in support of business needs. Demonstrated proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Working knowledge of Lean concepts Must work somewhat independently and make decisions that affect the workgroup. Focus efforts on attaining assigned goals and objectives, which include meeting needs and expectations of internal and external customers. Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.
