Description
Are you a self-motivated individual looking for a part-time contract position that brings in extra income? The Municipal District of Taber has an exciting contract (self-employed) position available for the right person. Reporting to the Manager of Agricultural Services, the successful contractor will safely and competently assist in maintaining our Class III landfill and waste transfer station located adjacent to the community of Enchant. Days of work for this position will be Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday with 18 hours each week. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Open and close the landfill from 10:00 am and no earlier than 4:00 pm as required General yard clean-up and maintenance of the site, such as: Removing all trash and debris from perimeter fences Ensuring tires, metal, recyclables, and other items are placed properly in their designated locations Keeping roadways clear of trash and debris Providing a safe location for all patrons while in the landfill Coordinate with waste collection services for waste transfer Required skills and knowledge: A valid Class 5 Driver's license (yearly abstract) Must be independent and be able to work effectively alone Landfill Operator Certification considered an asset – training will be provided for the appropriate candidate Operating experience with a skid steer considered an asset. Training will be provided.
