QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 12 graduate or equivalent of required
  • Successful completion of the Sterilization Technician College Certificate or the MDRAO MDR Techniques course preferred (required within 6 months).
    Preference will be given first to candidates who have successfully completed the College Certificate or MDRAO course and then to candidates currently enrolled.

SKILL, ABILITY AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Basic proficiency in the use of computers required
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of this job required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required
  • Knowledge of medical instrumentation required
  • Knowledge of autoclaves and sterilization required
  • One (1) year recent MDR experience preferred
  • Recent experience working in a Healthcare environment preferred
Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  • Decontamination and sterilization of instrumentation
  • Handling of highly technical fragile equipment
  • Participates in unit/department and Hospital Quality Improvement initiatives
  • Completes continuing education requirements as necessary
  • Other related duties as assigned
