What Makes This Role Special You’ll work in a mission-driven, not-for-profit environment where resources are invested directly into resident care and team development You’ll join a collaborative and experienced nursing leadership team that values respect, teamwork, and faith-inspired service You’ll have the autonomy and support to ensure accuracy, optimize clinical reimbursement, and uphold regulatory standards that define excellence in care What You’ll Do Complete and coordinate the MDS process in compliance with all federal and state regulations Collaborate with clinical and interdisciplinary teams to assess resident care needs and ensure proper documentation Support accurate coding and timely submission of MDS assessments to maintain compliance and reimbursement accuracy Directs resident care plan conferences Track care metrics and assist with performance improvements Generates and distributes monthly MDS calendar After review of MDS by RN or DON, transmits electronic copy of assessments to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). Reconciles all transmission to CMS Provide education and support to team members to strengthen understanding of MDS processes and quality initiatives What You Bring Current RN or LPN license in the State of Maryland MDS certification or proven experience completing MDS assessments Minimum 2 years of clinical experience. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a long-term care setting required Prior experience as an MDS coordinator is strongly preferred Must possess strong written and oral communication skills; able to maintain confidential information Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Strong organizational and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
