The M&E assistant will report to the M&E officer in Al Kufra. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in monitoring and evaluation and data collection. JOB OVERVIEW/SUMMARY: The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) assistant will be part of the Al Kufra field office structure, based in Al Kufra. The M&E assistant will participate in a wide range of data collection activities at the field level, aimed at tracking the progress and performance of all health and protection interventions (e.g. spot checks, focus group discussions, post-distribution monitoring surveys). The Assistant will participate in a wide range of data collection activities, monitoring and evaluation assessments, observation, focus group discussions (FGD), Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), and support with CFM activities at their assignment areas, reporting daily findings to the Accountability and Feedback Officer. RESPONSIBILITIES: Implement surveys and assist in developing monitoring and evaluation (M&E) tools to ensure quality tracking of project outputs and outcomes, including tools to assess the impact of activities and beneficiary satisfaction, in line with GBV guiding principles of safety, confidentiality, respect, and non-discrimination. Participate in needs assessments and data collection activities, including monitoring visits, FGDs, KIIs, and community studies. Support and monitor project activities in the Al Kufra office, ensuring data quality through verification, accurate collection, and proper entry. Implement client feedback and responsiveness mechanisms (CFM) in Al Kufra, including conducting regular feedback sessions, surveys, and exit interviews. Contribute to capacity-building activities related to CFM and M&E. Participate in data quality checks, audits, and training sessions. Assist in data analysis, interpretation, and reporting of progress and findings, ensuring all documentation is properly maintained. Uphold data protection, confidentiality, and safeguarding protocols throughout all M&E activities. KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Position Reports to: MEAL Coordinator Position directly supervises: N/A Indirect Reporting: Accountability and feedback officer JOB REQUIREMENTS: A candidate who has Bachelor of Arts or Science in Social Science, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field 1-2 years of experience developing and maintaining M&E systems and tools Demonstrated experience and capacity in conducting field-level data collection and some experience in data analysis Previous experience in drafting reports Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office 2007, Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel. Demonstrated experience working with ICT tools to collect and analyze data Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility INGO experience preferred Fluency in English and Arabic required Working Environment: The M&E assistant will be based in Al Kufra. _________________________________________________ The IRC and IRC workers must adhere to the values and principles outlined in IRC Way - Standards for Professional Conduct.
