Description The Meal Loadout Operator is responsible for using an automated system for loading of soy meal and soy hulls into trucks and rail cars. The job requires a self-motivated individual with the ability to switch tasks as needed between operating a computer, moving rail cars, and managing safety and sanitation standards of controlling dust accumulation while communicating and coordinating with other departments and plant personnel. Primary Responsibilities Perform duties required to operate meal loadout and oil loadout in a safe and efficient manner Measure meal and hull bins with accuracy to ensure proper inventory levels and record measurements for daily records Responsible for loading of trucks and rail cars without supervision ensuring that the correct sample is taken, bagged, sealed, and tested Complete necessary paperwork required in the record keeping of the meal and oil loadout operation Perform necessary safety checks to maintain the equipment in a safe and efficient operating condition Assist the accounting department with month end inventory by taking measurements of bean, meal and hull bins Comply with SDSP’s Safe Quality Food (SQF) food safety program and polices Maintain the designated areas to SDSP sanitation standards Consistently contribute to a safe, positive work attitude Communicate to Customer Service Coordinator any problems that may occur and participate in problem solving Constructively work as a team to cross-train and develop each other to achieve maximum potential, and gain a broader view of operations Requirements Basic Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Strong verbal and written communication skills Basic math skills Basic computer skills including entering data into a spreadsheet and utilizing email Perform duties outside normal responsibilities as needed to support the team and overall organizational goals. Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work well with others Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Bend, kneel, squat, stand, walk and climb ladders and stairs Reach, push/pull above shoulder level Frequently lift and carry 25 – 50 lbs. Work on & around high structures & moving machinery Exposed to marked changes in temperature & excessive noise Exposed to dust • Occasionally exposed to fumes
