For over 20 years, Voluntary Action Center (VAC) has been dedicated to promoting dignity, health, and self-sufficiency by delivering high-quality nutrition services to our community. We are seeking a Part-Time Meals on Wheels Driver to join our Streator, Illinois team, working Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. What You’ll Do As a Meals on Wheels Driver, you’ll be assigned a daily route delivering meals to homebound individuals. But this role is about more than delivery, it’s about connection and care. Load meals and supplies into agency vehicle. Deliver meals along a structured route. Provide friendly, compassionate interaction with clients. Check on clients’ well-being during each visit. Report any concerns or unusual situations (mandatory reporter under Illinois law). Maintain accurate delivery records. Follow VAC safety and service standards at all times. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Ability to pass background check and physical exam. Dependable, adaptable, and organized. Strong customer service and communication skills. Comfortable using tablets and GPS. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Knowledge of Streator and surrounding LaSalle County areas highly preferred.
