As a Measurement Technology Specialist, you will advance next‑generation measurement technologies that enable smarter, more sustainable operations across global industries. You will work hands-on with innovative concepts, collaborate with experts across R&D, and push the boundaries of advanced industrial measurement technologies based on physical, optical, chemical and imaging principles. This role is based in Kajaani, where our product management, production and a large part of our R&D organization are located—providing an ideal setting for close collaboration, hands‑on development and fast testing. Your responsibilities You contribute to research and development activities throughout the full technology lifecycle You plan, coordinate, and report on selected research work, ensuring steady progress and knowledge sharing. You collaborate closely with product teams to refine, improve, and maintain existing measurement technologies. You build, test, and validate prototypes through hands-on lab and field work, turning ideas into practical solutions. You partner with customers and colleagues worldwide throughout research, development, validation, and field activities Expectations for you You have a relevant degree in measurement technology, electronics, physics, automation, process engineering or a related field (e.g. bachelor's or master's level engineering degree). You bring understanding or experience with sensor systems and measurement technologies. You communicate fluently in Finnish and English. You enjoy hands-on experimentation and translating findings into practical concepts. Travel is required occasionally for trials, collaboration, and field validation. To succeed in this role You excel when working experimentally, iterating quickly, and solving problems with curiosity and persistence. You are able to turn complex measurement principles into practical, testable concepts. Strong collaboration skills help you thrive in multidisciplinary projects, and your structured way of working ensures reliable progress across research tasks.
