The Artisanal Cheese and Salumi Department at Eataly is referred to as the Salumi and Formaggi (SAFO) Department and is home to more than 500+ of the highest quality cheeses and cured meats specially sourced from Italy, internationally and locally. Many of them are entirely exclusive to Eataly. A Salumi & Formaggi Artisan prepares, packages, receives and stocks product. A Salumi & Formaggi Artisan has passion for cheese and meat, and the ability to share that passion with Eataly’s guests. Reports to the Store Operations Manager. Assists guests with cheese and meat selection and shares knowledge of products Weighs, labels and packages products and completes food preparation in a timely manner Ensures counter and display refrigerators neatly and accurately as per the pricing menu, and promptly informs management when food quantities or supplies are low Merchandizes displays attractively and rotates products per quality and First In First Out (FIFO) standards Cleans work station thoroughly Performs other duties as required or assigned Qualifications Excellent communication skills Basic math skills Basic knife skills Knowledge of cheese highly preferred High school diploma or equivalent preferred Job Requirements Availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting Ability to use commercial equipment including scales, packaging machinery and a cash register Additional Information Benefits and Perks Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance Paid Time Off Paid Parental Leave RRSP Bonus program Free family meal daily Discounts at Eataly Classes on products and Italian cuisine Referral bonus program and more!
Responsibilities
