Description ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with accuracy and maintain a high level of productivity. Promote a high level of morale within department and store, utilizing friendly but professional methods of honest and open communication. Maintain good working relationships with other department managers with the objective of improving sales storewide. Assists in maintaining proper freshness, code dating, tares, and merchandising of the products in compliance with governmental guidelines and company policies and procedures. Capable of recognizing the quality of all service and self-service meats from their appearance and distinguishing between types and cuts of meat. Assists in proper department pricing, rotating and merchandising to meet company policies, procedures and objectives. Maintains an awareness of competitive activity within the store marketing area. Pulls outdated, rewraps or applies new labels as necessary. Stays aware of current sale prices and location of products. Answers guest inquiries in a prompt and friendly manner. Requirements COMMUNICATION: Ability to write, speak, hear, and understand the spoken word to respond promptly to pages, requests, team members and guests. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals. COMPUTER: Basic computer skills preferred. EDUCATION: High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or related job experience and/or training are preferred. EXPERIENCE No experience required. MINIMUM AGE: 18 years of age. REASON ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form or when helping resolve a team member or guest concern. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. or more. Responsibilities

The Meat Clerk is responsible for maintaining product freshness, proper merchandising, and accurate pricing within the meat department. They must also provide excellent customer service by answering guest inquiries and maintaining a professional, friendly environment.
