JOB SUMMARY

A Meat Cutter at Legends Haul is a vital part of the production team responsible for ensuring sausage making, production value add, safe and efficient packaging of products. The ideal candidate will adhere to strict quality and safety standards while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Additionally, the candidate will be also responsible for supporting freezer organization and inventory management to facilitate smooth operations.

Responsibilities

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operating Machinery: Operate and maintain sausage-making equipment, such as meat grinders, mixers, fillers, and casings, following safety guidelines and standard operating procedures
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks during the sausage production process to ensure that the products meet Legends Haul’s quality standards, taste, texture, and appearance
  • Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of raw materials and finished products
  • Freezer Organization: Assist in organizing the freezer storage area, ensuring proper placement and rotation of meat products to maintain an efficient and accessible inventory system
  • Inventory Support: Collaborate with inventory management personnel to keep track of packaged products, report stock levels, and support accurate inventory counts
  • Downtime Reporting: Identify potential production downtime and promptly report any machinery malfunctions or technical issues to supervisors
  • Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 60lbs of products and stand for up to 4 hours in a cold environment, maintaining a safe and clean work area.
  • Cross-Training: Willingness to undergo cross-training in different areas of the production process as required, supporting overall team flexibility
  • Adherence to Safety Procedures: Strictly follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues
  • Sanitation and Cleanliness: Keep workstations and equipment clean and sanitized to meet hygiene standards and prevent contamination
  • Sausage Production: Prepare, mix, and grind meat with appropriate seasonings, spices, and additives to create a variety of sausage products based on established recipes and customer preferences

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience: Previous experience as a sausage maker or in a similar meat processing role is preferred. Experience with different sausage types and meat processing techniques is an advantage
  • Food Packaging Experience is required
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Physical Endurance: Capable of lifting up to 60lbs and standing for extended periods in a cold environment
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to maintain product quality and consistency
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and follow instructions
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays, as production demands may require
  • Work Ethic: Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability to meet production targets and deadlines
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to work in various roles within the production team based on the company’s needs.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues related to processes and machinery
