Job Summary: The Meat Market Associates are responsible for cleaning the food prep and storage areas in the department in a safe and appropriate manner. This department is where meat cutting, trimming, and preparing meat products for sale in a retail environment is completed. The work environment is cold/refrigerator/freezer areas. Duties Include: Provide continuous attention to customer needs; greet, assist, and thank customers in a prompt, courteous and friendly manner. Offer product suggestions when appropriate. Clean food prep and storage areas where meat inventory has been cut, trim, and prepared as well as mechanical equipment and tools used in the process. Assist with stocking and rotating department products to ensure freshness and date control; restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and to maintain the lowest supply cost. Clean department equipment and tools in a safe and appropriate manner. Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues and notify store management. Notify management of team member theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized mark-downs, property defacement or any action that is illegal and/or against company policy. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning equipment and utensils. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines to include maintaining a clean and orderly work area. Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed. Performs other duties as assigned to include stocking, cleaning, etc. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
