Job Summary The Meat Department Trainee assists the Meat Cutter and Store Management in keeping the meat case and prep areas clean and up to the Peebles Save-a-lot standard. Responsibilities Uses knives and power equipment, cuts and/or packages authorized beef, pork, and poultry items according to Save A Lot policies and procedures Places meat cuts and products in the display counter according to Save A Lot procedures so they will appear attractive and appealing to the customers Receives, inspects, and stores meat upon delivery, to maintain the cold chain and ensures meat quality Ensures excellent sanitation and quality standards are met daily which adhere to Save A Lot policy Qualifications Must be 18 years of age High School diploma or equivalent required Experience safely using manual pallet jacks, hand tools, and power equipment, including but not limited to knives, wrappers, scales, slicers, cubing machine, and power saw WE WILL TRAIN THE RIGHT PERSON! Ability to regularly lift 80lbs Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
