JOB SUMMARY

The Meat Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the meat department ensuring high standards of product quality, customer service, and team performance. This role involves managing staff, inventory, and sales while fostering a positive and dynamic work environment. As a Meat Manager, you will be responsible for cutting, trimming, and packaging various types of meat while ensuring adherence to food safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to delivering high-quality products to our customers while maintaining compliance with food safety and health and safety regulations.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in food preparation or butchery
  • Familiarity with meat cutting techniques and equipment
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
  • Experience in packaging and presenting meat products attractively for customers
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities
  • Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and controlling waster.
  • Prepare and package meat products for display and sale
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and best practices in food handling
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including equipment and tools
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their meat selections
  • Supervise and train meat staff in all aspects of production and customer service
  • Monitor product freshness and quality, discarding any items that do not meet standards
