Description

We are seeking two passionate and committed individuals to join our team as Meat Hygiene Inspectors in slaughterhouses across Northern Ireland. If you’re dedicated to maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety, we want to hear from you!

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with pig or cattle slaughter lines.
  • Familiarity on working with UK Legislation and previous experience as a Meat Hygiene Inspector (MHI).
  • Full UK driving license and the right to work in the UK are essential.
The position is full-time, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities

As a Meat Hygiene Inspector, your main responsibility will be to inspect post-mortem meat for any signs of disease or potential food safety risks. This role is based in a slaughterhouse environment, so candidates must be comfortable working in this setting.
You will work closely with the Official Veterinarian to ensure that live animals are healthy before slaughter and that carcasses are thoroughly examined for diseases or contaminants. This role plays a vital part in safeguarding public health by ensuring the meat products are safe for consumption.
