Job Details Job Location: Westby, WI 54667 Position Type: Part Time Job Shift: Second The Meat Janitor/Sanitizer at Hansen’s IGA Market is responsible for thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing all surfaces, equipment, and coolers within the meat department, ensuring compliance with local health regulations and Hansen’s IGA Market high standards of hygiene, while maintaining proper food safety practices and following established cleaning protocols; this role would likely include tasks like scrubbing floors, wiping down display cases, cleaning meat grinders, and maintaining sanitation logs. Duties & Responsibilities Deep cleaning: Disassembling and cleaning meat cutting equipment, grinders, slicers, scales, and other meat department tools. Surface sanitation: Cleaning and sanitizing all surfaces including meat cases, cutting boards, worktables, coolers, and shelving. Floor maintenance: Sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing floors in the meat department Waste disposal: Properly disposing of meat scraps and packaging materials Temperature monitoring: Maintaining proper temperature logs for coolers and freezers Chemical handling: Following safety procedures when using cleaning chemicals Compliance with regulations: Adhering to local health department sanitation standards and Hansen’s IGA Market food safety guidelines Qualifications Required Qualifications Attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and organized work area Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive motions Basic knowledge of sanitation procedures and chemical handling Ability to follow instructions and work independently Strong work ethic and commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards
