Main responsibilities: * Lead daily operations of the Meat Department, ensuring high standards for product quality, freshness, cutting, merchandising, and food safety. * Supervise, train, and coach a team of Meat Cutters, Butchers, and Meat Clerks to deliver outstanding customer service. * Achieve department goals in sales, gross profit, labor, shrink, and inventory accuracy. * Perform hands‑on meat cutting, trimming, wrapping, and stocking as needed. * Ensure compliance with company policies, HACCP standards, and all food safety and sanitation requirements. * Build strong customer relationships by delivering friendly, knowledgeable assistance at the service counter. * Manage scheduling, task delegation, and staffing for a team of 2–20 associates. * Use store systems to manage ordering, production planning, and reporting. * Serve as Manager‑on‑Duty when assigned. We are looking for candidates who possess the following: * Soft skills: Strong leadership, communication, customer service, and the ability to motivate teams, solve problems, and maintain a positive, professional presence. * Competencies: Experience in retail meat or grocery department management with the ability to multitask, manage priorities, and oversee merchandising, inventory, and production planning. * Knowledge: Experience in retail meat or grocery department management with the ability to multitask, manage priorities, and oversee merchandising, inventory, and production planning. * Abilities: Capable of working in cold environments, lifting and handling products, performing repetitive tasks, and effectively leading a team. * Educational requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be at least 18 years old. * Travel requirements: May require occasional travel for training * Other requirements: Ability to work a full-time retail schedule including weekends, willingness to relocate if needed, and commitment to food safety and compliance.
