Job Description

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Operate any processing equipment per Safe Work Instructions (SWI’s) only when signed off as competent to do so.
  • Perform pre-start checks, adjusting settings and troubleshooting production line equipment
  • Communicate issues as they arise within their shift, with the Shift Supervisor and or process leader when required.
  • To be involved in continuous improvement and have a positive attitude towards implementing changes to improve Company performance.
  • Liaise with Operators and assistants on opposite shift to ensure a smooth changeover occurs between shifts.
  • Comply with and adhere to all relevant safety, quality and people related policies and procedures
  • Complete any production record requirements for your section/production line.
  • Ensure all product produced is correctly labelled to meet internal and/or specific customer requirements.
Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

Process workers are responsible for the day-to-day operations in their designated section, including processing to production plan, meeting food safety and quality standards and compliance with workplace health and safety policies.
Reporting to the Production Supervisor. This position has no direct reports.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THESE ROLES YOU WILL IDEALLY HAVE OR BE:

  • Previous experience with processing equipment as per safety requirements
  • Working with cutting, slicing, grinding, packing machines or process work in a retail ready meat processor or food industry experience is desirable
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Knowledge of food handling and very high standard of hygiene in your work area
  • Ability to work on a fast-paced, high volume production line
  • Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Health and Safety awareness
  • Ability to perform quality checks.
  • Great communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team
  • Fit, strong and able to perform repetitive manual handling tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol test
  • Own transport
