SUMMARY

The Mechanic Assistant/Shop Assistant is responsible to assist with the preventative maintenance & repair of PipeFlo Contracting Corp.’s truck fleet and equipment. Work scope includes a wide variety of vehicle types from G class to DZ class, small equipment, generators and compressors.

Responsibilities
  • Executing daily work instructions received from Licensed Mechanic or Dispatch Operations in a timely manner.
  • Assist mechanic in carrying out tasks to repair equipment including picking up parts from vendors
  • Maintenance and repair of custom-built utility trucks, auxiliary engines, diesel generators, water pumps and compressors
  • Troubleshoot & rebuild generators, compressors & camera transporters
  • Hydraulic / electric troubleshooting and repair
  • High pressure water pump / line repairs
  • Metal fabrication and welding repairs
  • Perform small electrical repairs
  • Perform service calls to job site for emergency problems & repairs with truck fleet & equipment
  • Complete related Non Conformance Report to record details of work performed
  • Pickup and delivery of equipment and trucks in for repair or job site requirements as required
  • Additional sundry duties/special projects as assigned
  • Maintain good order in mechanic shop; proper areas for company products & services, specialized tools, equipment, safety equipment and waste disposal
  • Assist in positive support & training of qualified PipeFlo employees to perform truck & equipment preventative maintenance and minor truck repairs
  • Ensure crews are completing NCR Reports for equipment & truck problems
  • Assist with general maintenance & repairs for PipeFlo shop areas
  • Purchase Order required for all consumables, equipment & truck repairs
  • Adhere to all PipeFlo Company & Safety policies, PipeFlo COR Standard Policies
  • At end of day, timesheet is completed with details of work performed & submitted, tools & equipment cleaned
