ob Title: Automotive Mechanic Location: Dearborn, MI Pay Rate: $19 – $29 per hour (based on experience) (Mechanic I, Mechanic II and Senior Mechanic Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (overtime and occasional weekends as needed) Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Automotive Mechanic II to work in a prototype vehicle environment. This is a hands-on role involving the modification, diagnostics, and repair of vehicles that are in development stages. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and the ability to work independently or in collaboration with a technical team. Responsibilities: Perform diagnostics, repairs, and modifications on cars and trucks in a prototype environment Follow repair orders, written instructions, and build procedures accurately Replace, install, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components Document all work performed, including service records and repair notes Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Operate and maintain shop equipment Assist with team-based projects as required Minimum of 4 years of experience as an automotive mechanic Solid understanding of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems Ability to read and follow service instructions and documentation Must have a valid driver’s license Must provide own tools and rolling toolbox Comfortable working independently and in a team environment Preferred Qualifications: Certificate or degree in Automotive Technology ASE certifications or State Mechanic Licenses Experience with alignments, A/C repairs, tire machines, or vehicle electronics Previous work on electric or hybrid vehicles is a plus
