Description Job Title: Golf Course Mechanic Position Summary: The Golf Course Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overall performance of all golf course equipment and machinery. This role ensures that mowers, utility vehicles, and small engine equipment are operating safely and efficiently to support daily course operations. Key Responsibilities: Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues on golf course equipment including greens mowers, fairway mowers, rough mowers, utility vehicles, and small engine tools Perform preventative maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, blade sharpening, and lubrication schedules Maintain reels, bedknives, and cutting units to ensure proper turf quality Keep accurate maintenance records for all equipment and schedule routine servicing Order parts and manage inventory of tools, fluids, and repair supplies Ensure all equipment meets safety standards and is operating properly before use Assist in equipment setup for daily mowing and course preparation Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment Coordinate major repairs or warranty work with external vendors when necessary Occasionally assist grounds crew with course maintenance when needed Qualifications: Previous experience in small engine repair, diesel/gas engines, or turf equipment maintenance with Toro, John Deere, and Yamaha golf cart experience preferred Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems Ability to use diagnostic tools and shop equipment Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Basic computer skills for recordkeeping and parts ordering Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Valid driver’s license required Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly Comfortable working in various weather conditions Standing, bending, and working with tools for extended periods Work Schedule: Full-time, including early mornings, weekends, and occasional holidays during peak golf season Compensation & Benefits: Competitive hourly wage based on experience Health benefits Golf privileges and employee discounts Reports To: Golf Course Superintendent Work Environment: This position is primarily based in the maintenance facility/shop, with frequent interaction on the golf course.
