JOB SUMMARY

Job Title: Mechanic
Location: Cirencester (yard-based)
Hours: Part Time or can be made up to full-time by adding other responsibilities – Up to 40 Hours per week Mon-Fri
Pay: Competitive depending on experience (paid either weekly or monthly)
Please note: Experience repairing and servicing vans is a necessity. Experience with HGVs, Plant and agricultural equipment would be an added bonus, as would a Class 2 licence and an IRTEC qualification.

A P Transport is a council-approved highways contractor operating across Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. We specialise in small civils, surfacing, and plant hire, and we’re looking to recruit a mechanic to help
The Role:
We’re looking for a skilled and reliable mechanic to aid us with looking after our fleet. We can also provide additional duties including, but not limited to agricultural/plant repairs and maintenance, Transport Management, yard duties or site inspections to increase the number of hours if required. We can be very flexible on number of hours and additional responsibilities, so apply and get in touch if you have questions! If you are self employed and just want a day or two a week, we would also consider that.

Key Duties:

• Inspecting, servicing and maintaining our vehicles (mainly Transit Mk8 Tippers)
• Assisting with HGV Inspections, repairs and servicing (mainly DAFs and 1 x Volvo)
• Inspecting and repairing plant/agricultural vehicles as required

Ideal Candidate:

• Mechanical experience with Vans at a minimum, but HGV, Agri & Plant would be a bonus
• Hard-working, punctual, and a team player
• Helpful but not required:
• Class 2 HGV licence
• IRTEC qualification
• Transport Manager CPC
• Plant/Machinery tickets
