The Equix team is built on pride in the workmanship and abilities of our crews. Our Core group of in-house welders have extensive knowledge and background in pipeline and fabrication welding. We have a current opening for a Mechanic. At Equix, we support our customers and stakeholders and constantly strive to exceed expectations with all of our services, which include: Pipeline Construction, Gas Distribution, Horizontal Directional Drilling, Facility Construction and Fabrication, and Trenching services.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • Completion of a Diesel Technician school program highly preferable
  • Certifications highly preferable such as ASE, 608/609, etc.
  • Must be able to provide own tools
  • Must be a Class 8 Mechanic
  • Valid Driver License with clean record
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screening
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, bend, reach, stand, climb, kneel, and push
  • Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job
  • Travel throughout Central Florida Areas: Ocala, Avon Park, Tampa, Orlando, Etc.

Responsibilities
  • Perform annual DOT inspections on trucks and trailers
  • Troubleshoot problems, discussing with equipment manager options for making economical and durable repairs
  • Maintain and repair heavy equipment, trucks, and equipment on a company wide basis
  • Services vehicles/equipment to include oil changes, greasing, adding fluids, changing filters and maintaining preventative maintenance schedules
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, drive trains
  • Order parts and supplies
  • Adjust functional parts of devices, control instruments and all types of equipment
  • Repair or replace defective parts
  • Test equipment performance before and after repairs
  • Operate and maintain field service truck
  • Other duties as assigned
