We are seeking to appoint a full-time Mechanic to complement our experienced Workshop based in Ormeau. Working Monday to Friday with opportunities for overtime, nights, and weekends when available, this role is offering a competitive hourly rate plus penalties, tool of the trade vehicle and superannuation. This position will report to the Workshop Supervisor, where you will be undertaking maintenance and repairs to construction and road transport equipment plant. Supported by a close-knit team environment, you will be enabled to work to your strengths within a diverse range of equipment servicing requirements. Core Responsibilities: Major and minor servicing of plant and equipment including road transport. Repairs and fault-finding hydraulics, pneumatics electrical and mechanical systems. Ordering parts for assigned tasks and diagnosing and repairing a wide range of systems. Modifying and upgrading systems to meet safety and ergonomic requirements. Rebuilding of components testing and commissioning on installation. To be successful in this role you will possess the following experience and skills: Demonstrated experience in servicing a variety of mobile / heavy diesel plant, including trucks, heavy machinery, earth moving and asphalt laying equipment such as road pavers, rollers, skid steers, shuttle buggies, excavators, and loaders. Experience in both Hydraulics and Electrical systems, coupled with sound plant and diesel servicing and diagnostic’s knowledge. Completion of documentation as required when making repairs or conducting services on mobile plant including allocation of hours to jobs. A good work ethic and proactive approach to regulate plant maintenance and servicing. Well organised and able to work to procedures, and an ability to work independently and as part of a team.
