Qualifications Summary: A Level II Mechanic is responsible for inspecting and repairing heavy-duty diesel engines, equipment and related systems.  This position requires strong experience in working with heavy-duty trucks and equipment. Responsibilities: 1. Perform scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, filter replacements and system inspections. 2. Perform Federal Inspections and repair issues that are found during the inspection. 3. Perform brake inspections, adjustments and replacements. 4. Inspect and change tires as necessary. 5. Interpret and follow technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams for accurate repairs and maintenance. 6. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work using maintenance management system. 7. Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications. 8. Address any deficiencies or discrepancies promptly, ensuring stakeholder satisfaction and vehicle/equipment safety. 9. Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and properly calibrated. 10. Communicate effectively with managers and Lead mechanic, providing detailed explanations of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance services. 11. Offer recommendations for future preventative maintenance or repairs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. 12. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety standards. 13. Comply with all company policies and procedures. 14. Any other duties assigned by the manager. Requirements: 1. Manages time effectively 2. Valid driver’s license 3. High School diploma or equivalent, technical training in diesel mechanics or related field is preferred. 4. 3+ years in diesel mechanics 5. Maintenance certifications in relevant areas; additional certifications for specific vehicle types or systems may be required 6. Basic understanding of using diagnostic software, mechanical tools and specialized equipment.; strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and good communication and interpersonal skills. 7. Ability to lift heavy objects, work in various environmental conditions, and stand for extended periods. 8. This role may require working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet operational needs.
