Overview We are seeking a Mechanic-in-Training for assignment in Pembroke Pines, Florida. The selected candidate will help perform scheduled maintenance on lift station equipment, piping and structures. Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm ** This position has a pay rate of $18 - $20/hr ** ** This position has a rotational on-call schedule ** Responsibilities - Prepare pre-task plan before beginning work and adhere to all safety requirements specific to the job - Assist lift station operator with preventive maintenance and repairs for lift stations department facilities, electromechanical machinery and equipment - Lubricate equipment and checks for malfunctions - Replace packing in pumps and valves - Replace bearings in motors, pumps and other equipment - Perform routine electrical maintenance and motor repairs - Lift station wet well cleaning - Maintain physical appearance of lift station - Complete work orders and field complaint forms - Perform other duties as required Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED - A valid Drivers License - Familiarity with hand and power tools - Ability to participate in weekly rotating "after hours" call out duty, including weekends and holidays
