Job Description: Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for a Mechanic at the Prince George’s County Organics Composting Facility (OCF) located in Upper Marlboro, MD. This position performs installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment used to support facility operations and a variety of environmental projects. Estimated Pay Range: $50,233.92 - $69,070.88 Benefits: Health Insurance with choice of medical plan and prescription, dental, vision, and life and disability insurance options, along with flexible spending accounts 401K retirement savings program with generous agency match Paid vacation, personal and sick leave Eleven paid holidays per year Tuition assistance Minimum Requirements: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of GED equivalency certificate plus three years of experience performing installation, repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment. Formal schooling from an accredited vocational school with a major in a related field may be substituted for experience. Education experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to three years of the required experience. Appointment to some sites may require Commercial Driver’s License with specific endorsements. Must have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points. This position will be open until filled. Responsibilities
