Description A Mechanic performs construction and maintenance work throughout the entire facility. You will be required to prioritize workorders, diagnose malfunctions, perform preventative maintenance, and repair or recommend repairs. On-the-job training to operate equipment will be provided. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. Essential Functions: · Manage daily workflow by prioritizing workorders · Requisition parts and materials · Use hand and power tools daily · Repair, replace, and install equipment & machinery · Keep work area safe, neat, and clean · Inspect, diagnose, and repair machinery, including conveyors, motors, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems · Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life · Replace worn-out parts such as bearings, belts, gears, and seals · Identify mechanical issues using tools like vibration analyzers, infrared thermometers, and pressure gauges · Diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system failures · Use diagnostic software for modern automated machinery · Assist in installing new machinery and equipment · Align and calibrate machines for optimal performance Tools and Equipment: · Various hand tools · Saws · Jackhammers · Drill press · Lathes · Welders · Plumbing equipment · Automotive tools · Hydraulic & electrical equipment · Cranes · Forklifts · Power tools · Ladders · Measuring devices · Hoists · Manlift · Torches Carpenter tools · Various hand tools · Saws · Jackhammers · Drill press · Lathes · Welders · Plumbing equipment · Automotive tools · Hydraulic & electrical equipment Requirements Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools Good communication and teamwork skills Physical Demands: The physical demands of this job include, but are not limited to, standing, walking, sitting, occasionally lifting up to 60 pounds, required to walk, sit, use hands, fingers, and arms, reach with hands and arms, climb ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee must also be able to see in close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Job requires a moderate to heavy level of physical effort and being elevated to heights exceeding thirty feet. Work Environment: Workers are exposed to an environment without temperature control for heat or cold. Safety Requirements: Safety requirements for a Mechanic include steel-toed boots, gloves, safety glasses, a face shield, and a harness.
