Description The Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing non-vehicle mechanical equipment and machinery used in operations. This role supports safe, reliable production and facility operations by performing preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on industrial systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery and mechanical systems Perform preventative maintenance on equipment such as conveyors, pumps, compressors, motors, gearboxes, and production machinery Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues Replace or repair bearings, belts, chains, seals, shafts, valves, and fittings Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals Conduct equipment inspections and document maintenance activities Identify equipment failures and recommend corrective actions or improvements Perform basic fabrication, welding, cutting, and fitting as required Maintain tools, parts inventory, and a clean, safe work area Comply with all company safety policies and OSHA/MSHA requirements Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and continuous improvement efforts Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience as an industrial, maintenance, or equipment mechanic Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical systems Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment with minimal supervision Ability to read technical drawings and manuals Preferred Qualifications Experience in manufacturing, mining, oil & gas, or industrial operations Hydraulic and pneumatic systems experience Welding or fabrication certification Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment (mechanical side) OSHA or MSHA safety training Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50–75 pounds Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and in confined spaces Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work for extended periods Work Environment Industrial and plant environments Exposure to noise, dust, grease, and moving machinery May require overtime, shift work, or on-call response Safety Statement Safety is an essential function of this position. The Industrial Mechanic must comply with all safety rules, lockout/tagout procedures, and participate in safety training.
