Description
SAIC is seeking a Mechanic in North Charleston, SC.

EDUCATION:

  • Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications; or four-year electronics apprentice program; or High School diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE:

  • Five (5) with degree/formal training or seven (7) years with HS/GED of practical experience
  • Five (5) years of practical experience in C4ISR systems, C4ISR land-based vehicular platforms or related C4ISR systems/subsystems. Experience, to include: installation of such equipment
  • Three (3) year of experience, to include: design, preparation and modification of engineering documents, and drawings
  • Four (4) years of experience in task C4ISR systems, C4ISR land-based vehicular platforms or related C4ISR systems/subsystems, of which 3 must have been performed within the last 4 years. Experience may be achieved simultaneously
  • Must have Microsoft Excel Knowledge
Responsibilities
  • Perform moderate to complex vehicle integration tasks to include cable routing, metal work installations, and technical support to integrate, install, modify, and perform upgrades in support of C5ISR systems
  • Read and follow integration documentation, written or verbal instructions, schematics, rough sketches, drawings and diagrams, layouts, and plans often requiring interpretation
  • Be able to safely complete all of the physical demands of the job in a manufacturing environment, including but not limited to the following:
  • Lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a regular basis
  • Walking, bending, stooping, sitting, standing or squatting for extended periods
  • Repeatedly manipulating and handling tools needed for installing electrical components, Mechanical parts and metal work into vehicles. Familiar with the use and operation of power tools is necessary
  • Move and arrange cable supplies and electronic equipment
