JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Small Engine Mechanic
Location: Edmonton

Kristian Electric is looking for a Mechanic to fill our Small Engine Mechanic opening at our Edmonton branch. As a Small Engine Mechanic you will be responsible for servicing small engine welders. This role is open to experienced Mechanics with an electrical background/experience as an asset. The successful candidate will be:

  • Reliable, organized, with the ability to maintain and service equipment in a timely and efficient manner
  • An exceptional customer relationship builder
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Safety focused

Role Summary: A Small Engine Mechanic servicing, diagnosing, and evaluating welder repairs in house and on job sites occasionally.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 3 years as a Journeyman Mechanic, Apprentice, or as an Engine Technician
  • Capable of working on gas drive and diesel engines
  • Experience operating forklifts with valid forklift certification
  • Experience with welders and electrical trouble-shooting is considered an asset
  • Experience operating overhead cranes is considered an asset

  • Ability to function as part of a team and to request and accept direction as required
  • Provide exceptional and accurate diagnosis and servicing of welders and equipment
  • Performing in a timely, effective, and high-quality manner
  • Ability to read part diagrams, make part recommendations, and repair work accordingly
  • Safety focused – ensure compliance to building standards, the safety of yourself and those around you, and the integrity of the company
  • Positive attitude towards learning, motivating, working on a team, and engaging with customers
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear communicator both written and verbally
  • Must have valid Class 5 (non-GDL) driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
