Position Competencies: * Ability to trouble shoot and make repairs on most facility equipment * Ensure the facility is safe and functional with routine maintenance and emergency repairs * Experience with light electrical work, light plumbing, basic welding * Prefer knowledge of boilers, HVAC, refrigeration * Ability to interact with residents and understand their needs Position Responsibilities: * Perform maintenance, monitoring, testing, refining, tuning and repair to the facility and any equipment within or utilized by the facility. * Collaborate with facilities Director on the needs of the facility. * Carry out preventative maintenance duties according to schedule. * Keep daily records of work orders completed and/or duties performed to be submitted to mentor. * Order part and materials and control inventory. * Ability to visually inspect facilities, identify health, safety and general disrepair and initiate and complete all work. * Clear walks and parking areas of snow and ice, when needed * May be required to be on-call and/or respond to emergency situations during off hours. * Assist with other duties as needed that support the core team to fulfill St. John’s mission, vision and values. Physical Requirements: * Standing, bending, ladder climbing, lifting up to 130 lbs. and pushing, pulling or rolling up 230 lbs.
