JOB DESCRIPTION: The Technician will diagnose, repair, and install components as instructed using required hand and/or power tools. Responsibilities include diagnosing problems, performing routine maintenance, knowledge / proper usage of shop tools, following safety protocols, and documenting work performed. * Diagnosing: * Identifying the root cause of technical issues using diagnostic tools and problem-solving skills * Routine Maintenance: * Performing routine checks, cleaning, safety inspections, preventative maintenance, to ensure the equipment operates efficiently and to prevent breakdowns * Tooling: * Knowledge of shop tools is required, including but not limited to: hand tools, jacks, welders, lifts, presses * Safety Protocols: * Adhering to all safety standards set forth by the company, as well as the ability to perform job duties in a safe manner * Documentation / Communication * Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor to discuss diagnostics, repairs, etc. KEY COMPETENCIES: * Interpersonal Skills * Initiative * Quality * Job Knowledge * Problem Solving * Teamwork * Customer Satisfaction * Communication QUALIFICATIONS: * Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (trade school in truck repair a plus) * Experience: Technician shop experience required (heavy-duty diesel / truck experience a plus) CERTIFICATIONS: * CDL B (if not held must be willing / able to attain) KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES: * Understanding of the product and how the product is expected to perform by the end user. Understanding of mechanical engineering and metal fabrication, as well as hydraulics and pumps / water valve systems. Knowledge of diesel engines / transmissions, air systems, as well as electrical systems and other major components.
