Job Description Seeking a suitably qualified, and reliable Mechanic- (UG Equipment- Mobile) to support a full range of mechanical maintenance, repair, and service activities on production equipment with considerable independent judgment in deciding with minimal supervision to ensure equipment availability in a quality, cost-efficient, environmentally, and safe manner. The role will report to the Supervisor – Mechanical Maintenance (UG Mobile Equipment). Key tasks and responsibilities: Complete all the necessary documentation such as work orders, and time sheets for future reference; Ensures compliance with Safety, Health, and Environment policies and procedures; Perform preventative maintenance of hoses, tubing, piping, and fittings by checking for deficiencies such as chafed hoses, bubbling, and leaks; Maintain a clean working environment to prevent contamination of the system; Uses Documentation and reference materials, and records activities on each piece of equipment for future reference; Prepare a Job Action Plan and Job Hazard Analysis if required; Communicate with others about the assigned task and discuss the outcome of the risk assessment; and Select types and grades of fluids and lubricants for the applications according to the manufacturer’s specifications and fluid capacity. Qualifications Behaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold Way; At least a high school graduate and a mechanical trade diploma related to engine repairs (TESDA NCII) is an advantage Minimum 3-4 years’ work experience with UG mobile equipment such as Sandvik, Normet, Volvo, and Caterpillar Ability to communicate effectively across all levels. Able to read and write English at an acceptable standard. With a valid driver’s license and/or mobile equipment operation.
