Are you a skilled and hardworking mechanic who thrives in a busy workshop and enjoys variety in your day? Ventia is looking for an experienced Workshop Supervisor to join our small, high-performing team supporting the Auckland Transport Roading Maintenance Contract in Henderson. About the Role You’ll work closely with one other mechanic, maintaining and repairing a diverse range of plant and equipment. Trucks and heavy vehicles Diggers, rollers and civil machinery Small plant such as plate compactors Every day brings different challenges, and you’ll ensure our equipment remains safe, compliant and operational. Key Responsibilities Service, assess and repair plant and equipment to a high standard, ensuring safety, compliance and minimal downtime. Complete accurate workshop documentation and coordinate outsourced repairs when required. Perform daily NZTA‑compliant checks, report damage, and maintain a clean, safe workshop environment. Communicate positively with staff and support a customer‑focused culture. Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide feedback to the Workshop Manager. Follow all HSE, risk and quality requirements, report incidents/near misses, and uphold Ventia’s Safe for Life philosophy. Demonstrate Ventia values and support safe, high‑quality team performance. What We’re Looking For Workshop experience Experience with any fleet, automotive, diesel, heavy vehicle or plant equipment Calm under pressure and able to manage busy days with competing priorities Strong communication skills and a positive attitude Computer savvy - confident with spreadsheets and learning new software Able to plan, prioritise and help run the workshop day-to-day Preferred Qualifications Class 1 NZ Driver Licence (required) Class 2, F, T, R, W licences (preferred) Heavy Vehicle / Diesel / Plant Trade Certificate (preferred) Why Join Us?
