Qualifications Job Summary  Performs preventive maintenance, repairs, and rebuilds mechanical equipment. Equipment consists of diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, drive trains, and compressors. Is capable of doing all work with little or no supervision. Assists the supervisor in making economic decisions on the repair of equipment. Maintains a neat and orderly work area.   Job Duties    * Promotes a strong safety culture throughout the shop; ensures all employees follow safety rules, procedures, and regulations. * Qualified through experience and training to repair and rebuild both diesel and gasoline engines. * Skilled in diagnosing and repairing drive trains, hydraulic systems, and pumps. * Experienced in troubleshooting and repairing compressors. * Supports production goals by helping meet deadlines and consulting with the supervisor before committing significant labor hours to equipment repairs. * Performs preventive maintenance inspections, completes required documentation, and keeps all equipment in good working condition. * Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area free of trash, scrap, and debris. * Assists in training new employees on daily tasks and standard procedures as needed. Requirements * Ability to read and write in English. * High school diploma or equivalent * Minimum of five (5) years of experience in diesel and gasoline engine repair and rebuilding. * Ability to identify and define problems, gather and evaluate facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to interpret a wide variety of technical instructions presented in mathematical or diagram form. * Regular exposure to wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, moving mechanical parts, work at heights, and confined spaces. May encounter fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical shock, radiation, vibration, hot surfaces, sparks, and intense light. The work environment is typically very loud, and clothing may become easily soiled. * Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, and smelling. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds regularly. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception, along with the ability to adjust focus. * Experience working with heavy equipment, hand tools, measuring devices, pressure gauges, chart recorders, and safety equipment.
