Description The primary job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, supporting CVRF’s Community Service Center by providing aluminum boat repairs, customization, small engine repair, fabrication projects, soliciting shop space, and handling fishermen bunk rentals. Specific duties include: Aluminum boat welding repairs, customizations and fabrications Interacting with the public for requests for service, providing estimated costs, performing repairs and collecting fees for repairs and services Facilitate shop and bunk room rentals, including collection of fees and verifying appropriate waivers have been signed Complete work orders for services and rentals, forward to the Corporate office, and file on-site Maintain technical knowledge, attend educational workshops, and review technical publications Other duties as assigned This position reports directly to the Region Mechanic/Welder Manager. A High School Diploma/GED is required. Must have previous welding and fabrication experience. Certification is a plus. Coastal Villages Region Fund has a zero tolerance Drug and Alcohol Policy. As a condition of employment, selected applicants must have acceptable background and reference check results. Physical Requirements: In order to successfully perform the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to operate shop and welding machinery, communicate with others in person and over the phone, and move about inside an office/shop. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and move in excess of 50 lbs. The employee is required to stand; walk, stoop, kneel and crouch. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This position also requires the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Work Environment: Generally this position is performed in a shop setting with exposure to florescent lighting. It requires the regular use of utilizing various hand tools, shop tools, and shop equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud due to operating machinery. The physical requirements and work environment characteristics listed are representative of those that must be borne by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
