JOB OVERVIEW

We are a leading manufacturer of e-liquid and vaping products actively seeking a Mechanical/Electrical Production Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic, forward-thinking individual who relishes a new challenge.
In the role of Mechanical/Electrical Production Engineer you will source, maintain and repair all equipment within the site. We are looking for a candidate who is motivated and keen to learn about our specialist products and build their industry knowledge.
Your job duties will include commissioning the required machinery and once installed finding and capturing machine damage and keeping accurate and comprehensive service and maintenance records. You will carry out and plan routine maintenance and preventive maintenance on all machinery across the site, including building maintenance. You will also be required to undertake and assist in improvement and expansion projects.
Working alongside colleagues, you will be a great team player and take pride in your workplace and working environment, making sure that high standards are maintained whilst complying with company procedures and processes.

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Experience of working within a similar role for at least three years
· Experience of Alignment and Balancing principles
· Knowledge of industrial equipment such as electrical and mechanical plants, electric motors, pumps, turbines, etc.
· Fitting skills in mechanical and electrical disciplines
· Experience in maintenance and machine servicing
· Self-reliance, resourcefulness, attention to detail and good work organisation is a must
· You must have passion and commitment - we are looking for an enthusiast who is driven by genuine interest and eagerness to succeed
· A good communicator both verbal and written;
· Excellent IT skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office Suite
· A great team-based approach
· Good awareness of health and safety

Responsibilities

· Take the lead in procuring new machinery, spares and modifications.
· Install and dismantle mechanical plant and equipment including, pumps valves, gearboxes chain and belt drives. Diagnose and determine the cause of faults in mechanical equipment.
· Understand and be able to diagnose problems with Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems and their components.
· Ability to understand and read engineering drawings.
· Ability to manufacture parts and components, including modifying existing parts to accommodate product changes.
· Have an electrical understanding of both single phase and 3 phase equipment including control systems, sensors, motors and switchgear.
· Diagnose and determine the cause of faults with integrated electromechanical power and control systems.
· Have a knowledge and understanding of building services, plumbing, electrical, heating, lighting and AC.
· In addition to carrying out routine and planned preventative maintenance, keep logs and documentation for this.
· Have the ability to adapt and improvise and perform under pressure.
· Conduct machine breakdowns and repairs.
· Liaise with machine and equipment suppliers.
· Manage and assist outside contractors when on site
· Keep Operations Manager updated on the status of equipment under service/repair
· Manage and train the engineering team to support the smooth running of the production schedule, minimising downtime and ensuring capacity is maintained.
· Responsible for the selection, installation and maintenance of all the production machinery and equipment across the site.
· Create and Manage/ Support training for operators
