Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Location: Milton, Ontario, CAN, L9T 5C3
Job Type: Contract
Hours: Afternoon shift

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in assembly in a manufacturing environment
  • Completed High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently and up to 50 pounds with assistance using proper/safe lifting techniques

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in assembly or repair of products
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing processes and Six Sigma Tools
  • Basic computer skills & knowledge of Oracle functions
  • Ability to train others effectively
  • Consistently demonstrates high quality of work
  • High level of engagement in CI culture, including participation in 5S, safety, and site engagement
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in problem-solving, mathematical skills, computer, and troubleshooting ability
Responsibilities
  • Act as assembly project lead on low to moderate complexity projects
  • Direct work of MO2 assemblers, ensuring quality and accountability for assigned projects
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings (excluding wiring portion) and Oracle Bill of Materials
  • Use 3D model viewing software and Microsoft Office tools
  • Flex to other departments as necessary
  • Verify picked parts against required parts and resolve discrepancies with supervisor
  • Escalate drawing concerns via appropriate channels
  • Repair and modify errors detected by test/inspection
  • Work in compliance with CSA and UL codes
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of the internal KANBAN process
  • Ensure consistent assembly methods for units on the same order
  • Conduct visual inspections before and after assembly
  • Clean units and prepare for testing
  • Check performance of completed components and make adjustments to meet quality standards
  • Perform packing and shipping duties
  • Use various fixtures, gauges, and tools to assemble, adjust, or repair products.
