Machine Builder/Mechanical Assembler   Job Description Vacuum Instruments Corporation is a pioneer in providing state-of-the-art leak detection solutions for diverse applications and industries. Our systems have ensured the safety and performance of countless products that we use in our daily lives from the cars we drive to the air conditioners in our houses, the pacemakers in our bodies, and the satellites we launch into space. We are seeking a mechanically inclined person to be part of our team in building custom machinery from the ground up. Mechanical assembly of our custom equipment is a critical part of our process that includes some lifting and working in tight spaces. Previous manufacturing/machine building experience is required. The position entails assembling new components, drill and tapping, tube bending and running of lines for pneumatics, assembly of valves and assembly of vacuum components. The candidate should have basic knowledge in the various types and sizes of fasteners, hardware and pipe fittings as these are used extensively throughout the equipment.    Responsibilities * Assembly of equipment from schematics/blueprints * Communicate effectively with all levels of the team * Work with other assemblers to complete required tasks * Perform mechanical assembly of final assemblies or sub-assemblies * Keep clean/safe work area * Follow safety procedures  Requirements * Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools * Must have own hand tools, power tools supplied * Milling and lathe experience a plus but not required * Welding experience a plus but not required * Drilling/tapping holes as per instruction * Must be mechanically inclined and willing to learn * Must be able to read, understand and interpret written and verbal instructions in English * Ability to deal with change in priorities daily * Must work well with others and on own * Must be punctual and reliable
Responsibilities
The mechanical assembler is responsible for building custom machinery from the ground up by interpreting schematics and blueprints. They will perform mechanical assembly of components, manage pneumatic lines, and ensure a clean and safe work environment.
