Description Assembles, installs, and adjusts variety of component parts on units according to drawings and written customer specifications, using hand tools, assembly fixtures, and test devices. Job Responsibilities/Key Accountabilities Read drawings or customer specifications to determine position of unit component parts. Positions components and installs fixtures. Inspect products to verify that optional equipment changes have been made according to customer specifications. Clean dust and dirt off building panels and electrical components. Gather supplies and tools needed to complete jobs. Drill and tap holes to install floor plates and thresholds. Use grinders to grind knots off floor and panels prior to painting. Complete work according to specified schedule and complete traveler documents in detail. Verify correct paint colors are being used by reading drawing and customer specifications. Assemble units and tests units for proper performance using such devices as gauges, test lights, hand tools, and related electronic devices. May install windows, door panes, handles, drains or other accessories. Clean up work area and return tools and supplies to appropriate places each day. Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others. Perform additional duties as requested Requirements Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Flexibility and ability to work under production pressure. Ability to work in cooperation with other team members. Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time, work on knees for extended periods of time, work on ladders at heights and lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to work in enclosed spaces for extended periods of time. Ability to perform basic math calculations and measurements. Additional skills desired: Detail oriented. Prior industrial painting experience, auto painting may be suitable exp. Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification. Educational Requirements/Degree(s) High School Diploma or GED preferred. Equivalent experience may be acceptable.
