QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years in a field related to buildings engineering and/or construction management
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of buildings mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, and/or fire protection), along with a working understanding of industry typical means and methods of executing this work on a construction site
  • Experience as a mechanical designer/consultant is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience as a mechanical estimator and/or an installer in a related field is considered an asset
  • A P.Eng is not required, but considered an asset
  • Candidates with direct experience as part of a Construction Management firm and/or a Construction Joint Venture in the transportation sector will be given priority for this role
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective interactions with stakeholders
  • Valid Driver’s license in good standing required

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

Arcadis is looking for a Mechanical Construction Representative to provide Engineering Support During Construction (ESDC).
Working within our Design & Engineering teams, you’ll create some of the world’s most iconic and ground-breaking structures and spaces that transform the world around us, from making journeys easier to opening public places that bring people together.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Reviewing the progress of work on site to ensure compliance with the contract documents
  • Review and sign off on submittals
  • Review and witnessing of commissioning/equipment startup efforts on site, and other duties as typically required within the industry and as stipulated by project requirements
  • Proactively review the contract documents to anticipate, identify, and/or prepare any change orders needed to resolve conflicts and/or recommend improvements
  • Interact with installers, construction managers, and/or authorities having jurisdiction on the job sites
