LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Mechanical Engineering degree/HNC
  • Proven ability to use Inventor and AutoCAD
  • Proven ability to design sheet metal parts

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

IMI Worthing (Applied Kilovolts) is focussed on delivering the very best in high stability, low noise high voltage power supplies for mass spectrometry, medical and industrial applications. Our products are delivered without compromise and are ultra-responsive with transparent project management. The role of Mechanical Design Engineer is based in the busy design engineering department, taking a key role in developing new custom and modified designs, delivering the product roadmap and maintaining the current product range. A passion for engineering and the enthusiasm to communicate this across the organisation is desirable.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The specific responsibilities of this flexible role may alter from time to time in order to meet the needs of the customer, but responsibilities will include (or be equivalent in nature to) those listed below:

  • Development of Mechanical concepts and designs to meet customer and/or internal requirements,
  • Modification and enhancement of existing designs to meet customer requirements
  • Design of new sheet metal parts, wire looms and 3D printed parts
  • Drafting of General Assembly drawings using 3D drawing tools.
  • Documentation of work
  • Product safety assessments and approval liaison
