JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineering specialized in Automation / Material Handling to design and optimize mechanical systems for the movement, storage, and retrieval of materials in a custom machinery manufacturing environment. This role will focus on designing innovative material handling solutions that enhance productivity, safety, and efficiency

JOB REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & SKILL)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in mechanical design and material handling systems, particularly in custom machinery or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including power transmission, gears, bearings, and fluid dynamics.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for creating and modifying design models.
  • Experience in performing time studies and utilizing data to optimize process efficiency and resource allocation.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities
  • Design, analyze, and develop custom material handling equipment.
  • Experience with Conveyors, Stackers, Nesting systems.
  • Conduct time studies to evaluate material handling operations and determine optimal cycle times, equipment utilization, and labor requirements.
  • Work with the engineering and manufacturing teams to develop material handling systems tailored to specific project needs.
  • Ensure the designed material handling systems are optimized for safety, energy efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
  • Perform detailed engineering analysis, including stress, load, and motion analysis for material handling systems.
  • Select and source appropriate components for custom material handling systems, considering performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Work closely with applications engineering team and customers to ensure designs meet project specifications and requirements.
  • Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and performance evaluations to ensure the final product meets design criteria.
  • Collaborate with programmer and electrical engineers to integrate material handling systems with automation and control systems for enhanced performance.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, installation manuals, and operating procedures.
  • Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in material handling technologies and implement improvements where necessary.
