POSITION SUMMARY

You’ll lead the mechanical design and development of automated manufacturing equipment—from initial proof-of-concept through detailed design, validation, and commissioning. This role is for someone pragmatic and hands-on, with a passion for automating precision manufacturing processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related.
• 3–8 years’ experience in mechanical design for automated equipment, custom machinery, or manufacturing systems—especially for OEMs.
• Proficient in 3D CAD workflows.
• Solid knowledge of mechanical motion systems (linear, rotational), pneumatics, material handling, kinematics.
• Practical, problem-solving mindset and readiness for field involvement.
• Strong cross-disciplinary communication skills.
• Exposure to precision engineering, ETO manufacturing, or test & tooling equipment preferred.

• Design mechanical systems for automated production equipment, including frames, motion axes, fixtures, and gantry or robotic integrations.
• Produce 3D CAD models and detailed drawings (SolidWorks or Unigraphics), adhering to design-for-manufacturability and precision engineering principles.
• Collaborate with electrical, controls, and software teams to integrate sensors, and control systems.
• Select and qualify components, interface with suppliers for custom parts, and support procurement.
• Oversee build, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting with project teams.
• Contribute to standardization of mechanical design processes, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
