Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Design Engineer , you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering engineering drawings to operations and customers. Being the subject matter expert for their area of design.
  • Being able to design all components of the generator, Synchronous Condensers and motor.
  • Supporting operations, where required, with the production of the designed components.
  • Being fully proficient in designing using 3D CAD Inventor software.
  • Guiding design draughtsmen in the department, and signing off engineering drawings as checked work.
  • Working to KPIs and objectives set by the Design Office Lead (DO Lead)

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have an Engineering HNC or HND. Engineering degree desirable.
  • Have good 3D CAD experience (Autodesk Inventor - advantageous).
  • Have the ability to design generators / motors / SC and create customer drawings and drawings for manufacture in AutoCAD, and populate BOMs.
  • Have IT Literacy and proficiency in the use of MS Office Packages.
  • Have experience with technical international standards.
  • Have experience of designing for Hazardous Area (advantageous)
  • Have proven ability to complete projects and achieve results in an ambiguous work environment.
  • Be fluent in English and eligible to work in the UK, with no requirement for future sponsorship
