The successful candidate will join our team, as a Mechanical Design Engineer (f/m/d), within the Engineering Department in Hamburg.

Responsibilities

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ATTRIBUTES WOULD BE:

  • Development and design of mechanical components and devices for navigation systems from precise and complex precision mechanics in the gyrocompass, to control units and connection boxes for weather-protected and exposed installations, to antennas and sensor installations in the hull area or steering gear compartment - results in an exciting and varied field of activity.
  • Optimization of designs in terms of cost, performance and manufacturability
  • Preparation of technical documentation and drawings for production and communication with suppliers
  • Participation in the creation of requirement specifications and test plans
  • Supervision and implementation of environmental tests in cooperation with external test laboratories
  • Preparation of cost estimates and participation in project planning
  • Responsibility for the implementation and release of changes, as well as the continuous improvement and maintenance of CAD and document management
