Job Overview The Mechanical Engineer Intern works alongside Mechanical Engineers and Designers to gain hands-on experience to the technical specification, design, and documentation of stainless-steel food and dairy equipment and systems for both new and retrofit projects. This role provides practical engineering experience in a collaborative, custom project-driven environment. What You’ll Do · Creating Bills of Material (BOMs), customer drawings, and manufacturing drawings · Building and updating 3D CAD models to support new designs and product improvements · Assisting with fabrication and design drawings for equipment such as tanks and material handling systems · Updating redline drawings to reflect design changes · Evaluating and troubleshooting mechanical equipment to improve safety, reliability, and cost · Optimizing designs for manufacturability and efficiency · Researching and solving technical challenges independently or with engineering teams · Collaborating with cross-functional groups including electrical engineers, control system programmers, manufacturing teams, and customers · Growing expertise in specific technical areas and supporting others on the team · Pitching in with additional engineering tasks as needed Requirements Required · Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering · Strong mechanical aptitude and a natural interest in how things work · Proven problem-solving ability, curiosity, and willingness to learn · Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking skills · Ability to handle multiple projects and stay organized · Clear and professional communication skills · Comfortable working with team members, customers, and external partners · Ability to travel up to 5% · Willingness to relocate if needed Preferred · Previous manufacturing co-op or intern experience · Overall GPA of 2.5 or higher · Experience using SolidWorks program software Compensation and Benefits: Salary range: $21.00 - $28.00 / hr This pay is based on relevant skills, education level, and prior experience.
