Mbryonics is at the forefront of free space optical communications. Our product portfolio covers a wide range of emerging technologies from photonic integrated circuits to advanced optical systems and embedded software solutions. Our optical communications systems are integrated and deployed in satellite communications systems. The work is exciting and challenging and is at the forefront of the technology domains. As part of our expansion, we are currently looking for a suitably motivated - Mechanical Design Engineer Intern - to join our group.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer Intern, you will contribute to the mechanical designs, including design, building, and testing. Your daily tasks will involve CAD design, prototyping using 3D printing and metalworking, and participation in process improvement initiatives. You will also support the mechanical design of components and assemblies for the development of next-generation optical communication terminals.
Utilise CAD for the design of mechanical components and optomechanical assemblies.
Participate in prototyping activities, including 3D printing and working with metal parts.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Assist in the mechanical design of parts and assemblies for Low Earth Orbit applications.
Support mechanical hardware design, builds, and testing activities.
Provide creative engineering input, research, conduct trials, and challenge the norm.
Apply CAD design and prototyping skills daily to realise various types of motorised gimbal systems, mechanisms (launch and optomechanical), and optical actuators.
Perform structural analysis simulations such as modal and static analysis.
