QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering OR a related field OR a Diploma with equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1 year of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer (required)
  • 3 year of experience with SolidWorks (required)
  • 1 year of robotic cell design (not required)
  • 1 year of experience in part and component search (required)

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes and machine redesign
  • Solid understanding of various fasteners
  • Knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and GDST (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • General understanding of major electrical components
  • Understanding of metal grades and finishes
  • Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills
  • SolidWorks knowledge is a major plus

.Schedule:

  • Monday to Thursday 8am -5pm
  • Half Day Friday 9am- 2pm

Responsibilities
  • Designing new mechanical and high-level electrical assemblies
  • Developing BOMs and cost analysis studies
  • Process documentation and standardization
  • Working with shop leads and other engineers to develop and improve new and existing SOPs
  • Support prototype trails with testing and evaluation
  • Working with vendors to source new and replacement parts that meet design requirements
  • Researching compliance of designs and components for various industry standards such as UL, OSHA, CSA and others
  • Other tasks as required
